By 2050, it is estimated there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. A result of our disposable and throwaway culture. But it doesn’t have to be that way. We can turn the tide on plastic in our oceans and protect our beautiful planet for future generations.
Plastic Free July® is a global movement that helps millions of people be part of the solution to plastic pollution — so we can enjoy a world free of plastic waste. Its vision is to see a world without plastic waste. It is indeed a challenge to remember every year to get into helping eliminate plastic pollution. Through doing what we do (up-cycling), we are on a mission to educate people about the harmful consequences of plastic. We are on a mission to help people make small but everlasting lifestyle changes that have a huge environmental impact. Our planet is precious and we need to protect it for future generations. By making small steps together, we can enjoy a world free of plastic waste.
What can you do?
Whilst some people are refusing straws, others are choosing to buy unpackaged fruit and vegetables whilst others chose to use up-cycled bags. Whatever the choice, together we are creating a movement that is going to stop the tide of plastic waste and create a cleaner and healthier planet.
By making simple swaps and choosing to refuse single-use plastic items, you can make a difference. Your choice may seem small but every single choice is adding up to a huge difference.
